Ohio MARCS-IP Jefferson County Simulcast

Public safety communications within Jefferson County are served primarily by the Ohio Marcs-IP trunked system, specifically Site 3-001 (Jefferson County Simulcast). Most, but not all, agencies are dispatched by Jefferson County 911. All public safety agencies within the county have a presence on the Ohio MARCS-IP system. This is a P25 700/800 Mhz trunked system. For those of you who are curious, MDT data is transmitted on conventional 800 mhz frequencies and not over the trunked system - and it cannot be decoded with any programs you may find on the Internet, so don't bother.

Frequencies for this system are:

SiteNameFreqs
0-001 (0-1) Jefferson County851.162500 851.412500a 851.862500 852.875000 853.075000 853.237500a 853.662500c 853.975000
    858.462500a

  • The red and blue frequencies are control channels. As such you should make sure and program all four of those control channels in your scanner.

Some agencies have their own talkgroups. Agencies without their own talkgroups can be found on one of the division talkgroups.

Certain agencies including Sheriff's Office, Steubenville PD, Toronto PD, and Steubenville FD have their own dispatchers as well. Other agencies rely solely upon Jefferson County 911 Center for dispatch.

In addition to public safety agencies you will find school buses for Toronto City Schools, Buckeye Local and Indian Creek on the system.
