RR 3.0 Release Specifications


RadioReference.com Site Version 3.0 Release Specifications

The site is now in production as of December 9, 2007, however, all aspects listed below are not complete. Target Release Date: June 15th 2007 July 1st, 2007


This page outlines all of the current feature enhancements, bug fixes, and new features that are planned as part of the 3.0 release of the Radio Reference Web site. There are a number of different components of the Web site that function independently, and in an integrated fashion. Each component and its release details are listed below. Status indicating reflect what is completed or still in progress on the development site.

Radio Reference Portal/Site

  • An entire rewrite of the Portal Software completely away from PHP Nuke and using a complete custom Portal design. Complete
  • The winning graphic logo design will be integrated along with a new color theme, style, font and graphic rollout. Complete

  • Flash Mapping software will be integrated into the RadioReference database for complete clickable map functionality across the entire database. County Level data maps (clickable) will also be available for all United State counties. In addition, worldwide mapping will be made available, with state mapping for most countries. Complete
  • A new common frequency database will be available in addition to the existing legacy RadioReference.com Database, to store frequencies for Cordless Phones, Federal, Military, Aircraft, GMRS/FRS/Itinerant, roaming businesses, and other common frequencies that have less of a locality, and more of an assignment perspective. Now for Version 3.1 Release
  • Trunked System Talkgroups will get their own table for assignable talkgroup categories (vs type attributes that currently exist) For general users of the database there will be no behavior changes, for the administrators there will be slight changes as to how trunked system talkgroups are managed.   • All Frequencies (Complete) and Talkgroups ( Complete) will be "tagged" with the following service type tags:
