BEACON AMBULANCE

Beacon was a division of National Ambulance.  Since the 
rebranding of National's former ambulance and wheelchairmobile 
fleets to Rural/Metro, Beacon Ambulance no longer exists.

The former Alternative Transportation Services division of 
National Ambulance (wheelchairmobiles, ambulettes, and buses) 
has been closed.

Rural/Metro's rigs have recording tachometers to monitor the 
speeds at which the vehicles travel during a shift.  During 
poor driving conditions, an announcement of reduced "Tach speed" 
may be made.  This lowers the maximum speed at which Rural/Metro 
vehicles are permitted to travel (normally 40 mph on City streets 
or 55 mph on expressways) until the restriction
