Police

Shelburne County RCMP are dispatched by the RCMP OCC Located in Truro via the [Maritime Public Safety Radio Network (MPSRN)]. Some also have access to legacy VHF systems.

Fire

Fire Departments in Shelburne County are primarily dispatched by various private dispatch centers via their respective VHF dial in systems while some have a secondary alert via text message.

In addition to each having their own VHF frequency, They can also operate with each other and their dispatching provider through the Nova Scotia Integrated Mobile Radio System fire repeater located at Middle Ohio (and possibly other repeaters), the Maritime Public Safety Radio Network (MPSRN) "south" talkgroups as well as the "Fire OPS" and "Mutual Aid" talkgroups, and the provincial mutual aid VHF simplex frequency 153.83

Ambulance

Ambulance services are provided by Emergency Health Services (EHS) (NS). Communications are on the EHS "West 2" talkgroup on the Maritime Public Safety Radio Network (MPSRN).
