Line 1: Line 1:
* Press HOLD key down while turning on power. Bring up the Menu, select Settings and scroll to 2 new menu items, '''P25 adjust level''' and '''P25 adjust mode'''

* P25 mode can be 1, 2 or 3

** Mode 1 is a very agressive algorithm that attempts to track the system and can cause extreme swings

** Mode 2 is similar, but won't swing nearly as wide up or down

** Mode 3 (which seems to work for many) is a compromise between 1 and 2

* Be sure to press '''Enter''' after each change, or it may not be saved

P25 Level sets where the above tracking mode cuts in based on signal strength. Lower numbers means the P25 tracking system (the audio decoding system, NOT the trunking system!) tracks at lower signal strengths. Setting the level at 0 means it will ALWAYS try to track to the best error rate...even on a signal that is untrackable. Setting it at level 250 means it will never attempt to clean up the audio.

Note that these settings are unofficial and not supported. As they were originally intended for testing they may not be in future firmware releases
