To Whom It May Concern: I have picked up radio traffic from an unknown railroad company in or near the Mattoon, area. On several occasions, have picked up traffic on 161.19 CSQ. I heard individuals discussing "moving a heavy train" and referencing "signals in Effingham." I also heard one party on this frequency sign off by saying "Champaign out." This suggests some type of dispatch in or near Champaign is communicating on this frequency as well. This is obviously being used by a railroad company that operates, at the very least, between Champaign, IL and Effingham, IL (Mattoon is between the other two towns). Signal strength of these transmissions varies between 3/5-5/5. I use a Uniden BCD396XT with a Diamond RH77CA.
