  • BOX ALARMS:
    • CLASS A BOX: (4+ STORIES OR CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTICT)
      • 3-ENGINES, 2-TRUCKS, 2-CHIEFS, 1-RESCUE AMBULANCE
    • CLASS B BOX: (ALL OTHER STRUCTURES)
      • 3-ENGINES, 1-TRUCK, 2-CHIEFS, 1-RESCUE AMBULANCE
    • SECOND TRUCK CO. IS DISPATCHED WHEN SIZE-UP HAS ANY INDICATION OF FIRE PRESENT
    • WHEN THERE IS NO INDICATION OF FIRE OR EMERGENCY DURING THE SIZE-UP, ALL COMPANIES RESPONDING WILL REDUCE TO CODE-1 AND THE 3RD ENGINE, 2ND CHIEF AND THE RESCUE AMBULANCE WILL BE DISREGARED. THIS HAPPENS UNLESS, THE INITIAL COMPANY INSTRUCTS EVERYONE TO CONTINUE ON WITH THE EMERGENCY RESPONSE.

      • SS=STATION NUMBER (BOX IS WITHIN THAT STATION'S DISTRICT)
      • QQ=QUADRANT (LOCATION FROM STATION)
        • 0-19 NORTHEAST
        • 20-39 SOUTHEAST
        • 40-59 SOUTHWEST
        • 50-79 NORTHWEST
        • 90+ HIGH RISE
      • EXAMPLE:
        • BOX 3911 WOULD BE LOCATED NORTHEAST OF STATION 39
        • BOX 3900 WOULD BE LOCATED AT STATION 39

MDC Signaling

The City of Dallas is now starting to use MDC 1200 signaling on their Fire Equipment.

  • Radio ID assignments used by MDC1200 signaling
    • 42xx = Engines
    • 43xx = Trucks
    • 44xx = Rescues
    • 46xx = Bat Chiefs

For example if you can decode MDC signals and you see 4201, that is Engine 1, 4202 is Engine 2, etc
