The PL Tone and repeater frequency varies by location; some areas are using APCO-25 Common Air Interface. Encryption may or may not be used. 417.2 and 415.2 are the most commonly used repeater outputs nationwide.

FPS operates four MegaCenters (dispatch centers):

  • Battle Creek, MI (FPS Regions 4, 5, 6)
 417.200  Dispatch - Region 4 - analog and P25? - logged in FL (192.8 in Miami)
 415.200  Dispatch - Region 5 - analog, 103.5 - logged in IL, MN, OH, WI
  • Denver, CO (FPS Regions 7, 8, 9, 10)
 415.200  Dispatch - Region 7 - analog, CSQ, 103.5 - logged in TX
 410.800  Dispatch - Region 8 - analog, DCS 125 - Northern CO Dispatch (Denver/Boulder operations are on the Denver Area Federal Trunking System)

FPS Unit IDs

FPS unit IDs are Number-Letter-Number format. First number designates the region, the letter designates the type of unit and the second number designates the individual unit.

  • George - contract guards
  • Ida - investigators
  • King - canine
  • Paul - patrol
  • Sam - supervisory (sergeant)
  • Tom - physical security specialists (non-commissioned)
  • Victor - commanders/high-ups
