The Radio Service Software available for this radio is only for alignments.

Programming

  • Turn the radio on.
The radio will either be in memory channel mode or VFO (scrach pad) mode.
  • Enter programming mode by holding down PTT, MON and Scan key while powering up radio.
  • Press left arrow to enter VFO mode
  • Enter receive frequency then short press Enter (yellow button above PTT)
Step size can be changed by holding down the LOW key for three seconds then selecting
the correct size with the channel rotary knob then press yellow Enter to confirm.
  • Set the transmit frequency (offset) by short pressing the down arrow for + or - or +-
Selecting + offset will set transmit 600 KHz above set receive ie 147.3800 + .600 = 147.9800
Selecting - offset will set transmit 600 KHz below set receive ie 146.9800 - .600 = 146.3800
Selecting +- offset will allow you to specify a difference for the offset
For the UHF model the default offset is 5 Mhz ie 442.3500 + 5.0 = 447.3500
  • Set the PL/DPL (CTCSS) reference the supplied tone chart for tone numbers you need
  • press SQL button to select rxPL, use the channel knob to select the tone code
  • press any number key to confirm or wait 3 seconds
  • press SQL again to set txPL, use channel knob to select the tone code
  • press any number key to confirm or wait 3 seconds
The screen should now show receive frequency and your offset symbol if any
you are now ready to use the channel in VFO or you can save it to memory
  • To save it to memory hold down yellow Enter key for three seconds and CH# will blink
  • Turn channel selector knob to select one of twenty available memory slots
  • Short press yellow Enter button to confirm channel selection
