Fire

The majority of stations in Kings county are dispatched by Valley Communications ("Valley Dispatch").

In addition to each station having their own VHF repeater, stations can also operate with each other and their dispatching provider through the Nova Scotia Integrated Mobile Radio System fire repeater located at Garland, the NS Trunked Mobile Radio system (TMR-2) "west" talkgroups, and the provincial mutual aid VHF simplex frequency 153.83

Ambulance

Ambulance services are provided by Emergency Health Services (EHS). Communications are on the EHS "West 1" talkgroup on the NS Trunked Mobile Radio system (TMR-2).
