Scanning Colorado Air Medical Services

The State of Colorado is served by several Air Ambulance companies that operate across the state and region. Some frequency information can be found on the Medical Helicopters Agency Page for Colorado.

Air Link

Air Link at Regional West is based out of the Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. This service covers parts of northern Colorado.

Air Link formerly provided services from the Medical Center of the Rockies. Established in 2012, Air Link at Medical Center of the Rockies featured one rotor wing aircraft capable of high altitude rescues and a 200-mile response radius. It utilized a helicopter provided by EagleMed, LLC. Air Link at Medical Center of the Rockies was rebranded to UCHealth LifeLine in early 2017.

AirLife Denver

Founded in 1983, AirLife Denver is a regional air ambulance service based in Denver that serves the Rocky Mountain Region. AirLife Denver is the Critical Care Transport service for the HealthOne Network and is equipped with fixed wing, rotor wing, and ground based equipment. Fixed wing craft are provided by International Jet Aviation and based at the Centennial Airport and ground ambulances (Critical Care Transports) are provided by Rural/Metro Ambulance. Helicopters are leased from Air Methods, Inc.

AirLife Denver is dispatched by the AirLife Communications Center located in the Medical Center of Aurora-North Campus in Aurora. Calls are dispatched via Nextel and alphanumeric pager.

Classic Air Medical is a private air ambulance service headquartered in Woods Cross, Utah. Established in 1988, Classic Air Medical operates in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, and Wyoming.

Moab ship has been heard on the UCAN system, and also on the Colorado DTRS system (245397) reporting to St Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction.

Flight for Life Colorado

Established in 1972, Flight for Life Colorado was the first hospital-based air ambulance program in the United States. Part of the Centura Health Network and based out of St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood, Flight for Life serves the entire Rocky Mountain Region with fixed wing, rotor wing, and ground based equipment. Rotor wing equipment is leased from Air Methods, Inc. while fixed wing aircraft is leased from and operated by Mayo Aviation based out of the Centennial Airport.

Flight for Life Colorado is dispatched by the St. Anthony Communications Center located at St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood. Calls are dispatched by Nextel and alphanumeric pager.

Helicopters

Since this is a larger operation it's not uncommon to shuffle aircraft around as needed during special events, and maintenance.
The Lifeguard call sign stays with the location, but the tail number may vary depending on which ship is in service at that location.
i.e. LG3 will almost always be the St. Francis aircraft, even though they may be flying the N392LG aircraft

North Colorado Med Evac

Established in 1982, North Colorado Med Evac (formerly AirLife Greeley) serves the Northern Colorado area as well as portions of Wyoming and Nebraska. Part of the Banner Health System and based out of North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, North Colorado Med Evac operates three rotor wing aircraft. North Colorado Med Evac is owned an operated by Med-Trans corporation.

North Colorado Med Evac is dispatched by their Dispatch Center located on site at North Colorado Medical Center. Calls are dispatched by alphanumeric pager.

REACH Air Medical

REACH Air Medical Services directly operates two services in Colorado. One operation is based at Buena Vista airport as of March 2016 and is affiliated with Heart of the Rockies Hospital in Salida. The other is Southern Colorado CareConnect out of La Junta and is affiliated with Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo.

REACH also operates two helicopters that operate as part of the UCHealth LifeLine program.

St. Mary's CareFlight

St. Mary's CareFlight was established in 1976 to provide critical care transport services to the Grand Junction & Greater Rocky Mountain Region. As of November 2012, Air Methods has taken over operations of the fixed wing, and is providing a Eurocopter AS350. St. Mary's CareFlight is NOT affiliated with the TriState CareFlight program based in Arizona.

It is believed that St. Mary's CareFlight is dispatched by the nationwide Air Methods Center in Nebraska.

UCHealth LifeLine

UCHealth LifeLine is UCHealth's critical care air and ground transport program. LifeLine is part of a rebranding and standardization effort by UCHealth that began February 1, 2017. The separate Air Link at Medical Center of the Rockies and Memorial Star Transport were absorbed part of this move. Helicopters are owned and operated by REACH Air Medical Services and ground operations are provided by UCHealth EMS, Falck Rocky Mountain, and American Medical Response.
