  • All county departments are toned out over 155.0550 by the sheriff's office.
  • Dresden has a repeater that rebroadcasts traffic immediately following their tones.
  • Several departments' fire sirens are tripped with DTMF tones from MCSO.
  • National Trail's tones drop over 155.0550 when they are dispatched by Licking County or Perry County.
  • Perry County has the ability to tone Newton Twp. and Roseville.
  • Muskingum County has the ability to tone Crooksville (in Perry County), which runs automatic response with Roseville on most calls.
  • A few departments have begun to migrate fire operations over to Ohio MARCS.
  • Muskingum County currently patches the old low band system (33.98 103.5PL) on to the new highband system. This will eventually be dropped, once every station has upgraded their equipment. For this reason, Muskingum County apparatus can still be heard talking to Perry County Fire Control, which uses 33.98 CSQ.
  • For the most part, departments use their own fireground channels when on the fireground. Mutual aid companies go to the original department's fireground. The county does have "quadrant" tac channels. The MARCS quadrant channels are sometimes utilized during incidents requiring mutual aid. The VHF Lowband are all but deprecated. With the new highband system, the county is introducing 4 "VTAC" channels, where every department in the county would have all 4 channels. Muskingum Fire Control or the incident commander would decide when to go to these, and which channel to use.
  • The designated channel for landing medical helicopters is Genesis's hospital channel, however, this is migrating to the new VTAC 4 channel. Departments also utilize MARCS Medflight-Hail channel.
