Radio Shack Pro-164 scanning receiver

The Pro-164 is manufactured by GRE in China. The Pro-164, the handheld version of the Pro-163 is very similar to the GRE PSR-300 and uses the same radio control software and can use scanner cables. Note: this radio can not be computer controlled.

Verifying the firmware version

You can verify the version of firmware currently active in the Pro-164 by pressing the 3 key during the “Welcome” screen.

Future firmware upgrades can be installed by downloading and running an upgrade program via the Radio Shack support page.

Notes: Turn the scanner off, Press and Hold the PGM button while turning the scanner on.

You should see a screen with the top line saying either:

Boot Ver:GF1.00 or Boot Ver:GF1.01

For GF1.00, use the 20-163_164_v106_BOOT100.EXE File
For GF1.01, use the 20-163_164_v106_BOOT101.EXE File
