- You must hxpave the drivers for the PRO-668, PRO-18 or PSR-800 (whichever scanner you are updating) functioning.
- Install GREFwTool. Note the various versions are dependent on the firmware and your OS. The version history is found at the bottom of that page
- If you are installing firmware version 4.5, use version 0.2.0.3
- If you are installing firmware version 4.6, the file size must be 368340 bytes. A file size of 524292 bytes will not work. The file name is WS1080e_U4.6 bin
- Make sure you get version 0.3.1.5 of GREFWtool. This is especially important if you are running WinXP. If you have version 0.3.0.4 from a previous installation, there's no need to upgrade it. Versions 0.3x will handle earlier firmware versions if needed.
