-all enities have assigned number id's and shiawassee county is no exception. these assignments have been in effect for over 45 years or so. just because a enity has a numbering system, does not mean they have a police department. several shiawassee county enities have had police departments in the past, but because of tax base and money problems they have had to disestablish their police departments, but when the tax base and their bank accounts are full they reestablish their police departments.
