A VHF Overlay network (FCC Call Sign WQWR930) designed to improve station alerting and paging for 16 Fire Departments, Mutual Aid interoperability for 21 Police Departments, and Search & Rescue/Emergency Management response and recovery communications.

A final element slated for implementation in 2018 is a Distributed Antennae System (DAS) in the Pierce County Jail improving in-building voice and data coverage. DAS-like coverage will also be located in other county offices as the need arises.
