Metro East Emergency Response Team (MEERT)

Team consists of the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department, the Illinois Law Enforcement Alarm System and the Department of Homeland Security. It's primary purpose is to provide security at National Pharmaceutical Stockpile distribution sites, but it is also capable of responding to civil disorder, natural and man-made disasters and other crisis situations. The team also has an agreement to assist law enforcement agencies throughout the state and the U.S. as needed.

Has an emergency communications trailer with an ITECS-8 Emergency Communications system. The trailer has radio equipment for VHF, UHF, 800 MHz, Satellite Comms, and Internet access.
