The Uniden BC350C is an excellent conventional scanner for the beginner as well as the small town enthusiast.

It has 50 user programmable channels, and five banks with the most popular frequencies in each: Police, Fire/EMS,

Air/Marine, CB, and Weather. The BC350C comes with an AC power adapter, telescoping antenna, suction cup mobile

antenna, mounting brackets for in-car use, and an instruction manual. The unit is compact for easy mobile mounting,

as well as saving desk space when used as a base scanner. It has five preprogrammed banks as well as a Private bank

with 50 channels for user programming. The controls are simple and easy to use. They include the six one-touch banks,

Hold, Up, Down, Search, Lockout, Band, and Program. It's bright orange-yellow LCD display is easy to read. The

sensitivity of this unit is excellent, and transmissions come in loud and clear. The stock telescoping antenna works

very well. The internal speaker is rated at 2.7 watts, and delivers loud and crisp audio. The scanner scans very

quickly at a rate of 100 channels per second, and searches the preset bands rapidly. The scanner is somewhat awkward

to program, but not very difficult. The user must find the desired frequency in the band search, and push Program,

then the Private Bank, then Program to set the frequency into a channel. During the Band Searches, the scanner can be

easily overwhelmed by paging transmitters. It also lacks alpha tags and Priority, and has a limited user programmable

bank. All in all, this unit is an excellent scanner for those who don't need trunking. It's a great basic, conventional

scanner, perfect for the small town enthusiast.
