Hello all, My wife purchased this for this past April for my birthday. I am a scanner nut... nut you ask... I have

a Pro 2006 that has had the blue back lite replaced twice because it's burned out from being on for years at a time.

We my wife and were first married it took a few weeks to use to a scanner because I ALWAYS have at least one on or one

of my ham radios is going. But anyway back to the PRO-93- in my judgement one of the best out there. I likethe ablity

using the WIN93 software I can program my radio in seconds once I have loaded the file. We go to Columbus IN to visit

my wifs family... I have a file that covers my trip set-up with the general area's wo take on the trip and once we are

there the truncking system they use is loaded and I am ready to listen. That is what I love about. If I get there nad

want to listen to my ham stuff I can dump a new file in and go. It's that easy. The performance is excellent, in Indiana

it's flat... but I still have a great RX range. Here in TN everyone Mountain Tops the their TX sites and you can

listen to 4 - 5 counties with no problem with PRO-93. I guess the ONLY negative I have is it only has 300 channel.

But hey nothings perfect. If you do have a PRO-93 and try use the Rack Shack software they will try to tell you works

with the PRO-93 you wasiting your time. If you e-mail me, I will send you a zipped copy of the WIN93 software. It is

share / freeware so please send the your money to the owner not me. 73 all.

I purchased a Pro-93 in Septmeber of 2001 to replace my Pro-91 which I purchased in March of 2001. The reason I

purchased another scanner is because the pro-91 doesn't recieve very well but the Pro-93 is like a base scanner built

into a handheld. The Pro-93 is one of the best Radioshack scanners I have ever seen. It can track Motorola and EDACS

trunked systems. I only use the Trunk Tracking mode when I am in Evansville IN. I do recommend this scanner because its

worth the money I would have paid $300.00 but I paid $249.00.

This is an addition to my previous post. I love the PRO-93 because it is loaded with features. It also has a decent

number of channels (300). I would have gotten a PRO-95 because of the 1000 Channel Capacity, but I bought my -93 as

soon as they came out. It is an awesome scanner! Has large frequency range (25-1300), preset search banks, provisions

for additional antennas (I use a telescoping antenna on mine), and AWESOME reception! The only negative thing that I

can think of is you can't manually select the trunking talkgroup to lock on, the scanner has to first scan it, then you

can hold TRUNK. That makes it difficult to select a fireground talkgroups for example. (You need to keep repeatedly

pressing SCAN until it stops on the talkgroup)

AWESOME SCANNER,

Colin

I love my PEO-93! Bought it from Radioshack for 249.99. I agree with everyone else about how good it is. It has

awesome reception, even on very distant stations. U also get the 200MHz HAM band and 1000MHz HAM Band. It is so easy

to use and program too. Program up to 1000 talk group ID's....... just AWESOME!

I picked up my Pro-93 scanner an CLEARANCE from Radio Shack for $59.99! Yep, Fifty Nine dollars and ninety nine cents

(plus tax.)

For the price you can't go wrong. I love the alpha tags, makes life so much easier. And with free programming software

available on the web, programming is a snap.

This is the best, and cheapest, scanner I've ever owned.

owner on this page. i love it!!! i bought it to monitor Hartford CT. police as thier on a 16 channel edacs (G.E.)

it took me 3 months to figure out how to program the damn thing.!! but once i did , i knew i bought a great piece of

technology. i have nothing but praise for that little box of info. now i plan on buying a new digital scanner once
