Tulare County Sheriff's Department

New numbering scheme by Tulare County Sheriff as of 5-28-17

  • Adam units are Executive command, such as Adam 1 is the Sheriff
  • Charles units are Captains
  • Lincoln units are Lieutenants
  • Sam units are Sergeants

To avoid confusion, a Sgt assigned to a patrol station will always be -

  • 1Sam81 HQ
  • 2Sam82 Porterville
  • 3sam83 Pixley
  • 4Sam84 Orosi
  • 6Sam86 Vis sub

Detective/Detention/Admin/Court sergeants will be Sam and their number, like Sam22 etc.

  • David units are Detectives
  • King units are Courts
  • William units are Boating Enforcement
  • Com units are Tactical Dispatcher
  • Robert units are Reserves
  • Paul units are patrol, however beats are still the same, for example, P31 may go on

duty as 30C, and he will report as 30C for the rest of the night.

Beats are by substation -

  • 10 = HQ Patrol, like 10A, 12A etc
  • 20 = Porterville, like 20a, 21a etc
  • 30 = Pixley like 30a, 30b etc
  • 40 = Orosi like 40a, 40b etc.
  • 60 = Headquarters like 60a, 60b, etc

Patrol subtations

  • 10 - HQ Visalia, Tulare, Goshen, Farmersville
  • 20 - Porterville office covering Lindsay, Strathmore, Plainview, Woodville, Cotton Center, Porterville, Terra Bella, Ducor, Richgrove. Mountain deputies in Springville, Camp Nelson, Hot Springs, Johnsondale.
  • 30- Pixley substation covering Tipton, Pixley Earlimart, Alpaugh
  • 40- Orosi substation covering Cutler, Orosi, Sultana, New London Dinuba.
  • 60- Visalia, IVanhoe, Woodlake, Exeter

  • Exeter using radio numbers 12E or 800-820
  • Farmersville using radio numbers 12F or 821-840
  • Woodlake using radio numbers 12W or 841-869
