SC230 / BC246T

• The SC230 and BC246T have to be put into Remote mode and the baud rate selected. On the radio keypad:

1. Turn radio on normally.
2. Press the "MENU" Button.
3. Use the rotary tune dial to select "Xfer Information". Press the "E" key to make the selection.
4. Use the rotary tune dial to select "PC Control". Press the "E" key to make the selection.
5. Use the rotary tune dial to select the desired baud rate ... 57600 is recommended. Press the "E" key to make the selection.
6. Press the "Menu" Button several times to back out of menu mode.
7. NOTE: While the radio is in Remote mode the keypad is available for normal use. Remote mode remains active until you deactivate it, even if you power the radio on and off.

• Start the desired software while the radio is in Remote mode.

BR330T / BCD396T

• The BR330T and BCD396T have to be put into Remote mode and the baud rate selected. On the radio keypad:

1. Turn radio on normally.
2. Press the "MENU" Button.
3. Use the rotary tune dial to select "Settings". Press the "E" key to make the selection.
4. Use the rotary tune dial to select "PC Control". Press the "E" key to make the selection.
5. Use the rotary tune dial to select the desired baud rate ... 115200 is recommended. Press the "E" key to make the selection.
6. Press the "Menu" Button several times to back out of menu mode.
7. NOTE: While the radio is in Remote mode the keypad is available for normal use. Remote mode remains active until you deactivate it, even if you power the radio on and off.

• Start the desired software while the radio is in Remote mode.

BCT15 / BCD996T

• The BCT15 and BCD996T have to be put into Remote mode and the baud rate selected. On the radio keypad:

1. Turn radio on normally.
2. Press the "MENU" Button.
3. Use the rotary tune dial to select "Settings". Press the "E" key to make the selection.
4. Use the rotary tune dial to select "Set Serial Port". Press the "E" key to make the selection.
5. Use the rotary tune dial to select "Set Front Port". Press the "E" key to make the selection.
6. Use the rotary tune dial to select the desired baud rate ... 115200 is recommended. Press the "E" key to make the selection.
7. Press the "Menu" Button several times to back out of menu mode.
8. NOTE: While the radio is in Remote mode the keypad is available for normal use. Remote mode remains active until you deactivate it, even if you power the radio on and off.

• Start the desired software while the radio is in Remote mode.

Installing a driver

• Note: Even though these instructions specifically use the uniden drivers, the same procedures will likely work with other drivers

1. Download and unzip uniden_usbser.
2. Plug in the scanner using a USB cable.
3. Right click on the Windows Launch icon (bottom left corner) and select "Device Manager."
4. The device shows up with a yellow triangle.
5. Right click on device and select "Update Driver Software."
6. Select "Browse My Computer for Driver Software."
7. Navigate to the folder where you have unzipped the above driver.
8. The driver installed is assigned as: Uniden Serial Port (COMx)
   1. (x) will be replaced with the actual port number.
