Alleghany County Fire & EMS Stations

  • Alleghany County dispatches on 39.500 as well as 800 and uses multiple PL tones and sometimes none. The PL code listed of 110.9 is only one of several in use depending on location and units plus the situation in the field.

Alleghany County Sheriff Information

Alleghany County Sheriff and City of Covington have switched over to an advanced rolling code encryption on a Digital Nexedge system. They use their old analog frequencies for this system.

  • The full switchover occurred on November 15th 2011
  • As of 2010 EST on November 18th the Nexedge system has crashed and County is back on analog. They will be switching back once its fixed no doubt.
  • They switched back over to the Nexedge system on November 28th. The system occasionally drops into analog before reverting to digital but not often and only for a few minutes or so when it happens. No idea why its happening though.
  • The system allows them to revert to analog at any time should they so desire or in case of a digital system failure like what happened tonight.
  • This system because of the Rolling Code Encryption is completely unmonitorable
