Assistant Chiefs- 41,42,43, Official 4 is the Chief, MAC units are mobile air compressors.

EMS

Pittsburgh dropped the four digit identifier (51xx Medic, 52xx. Rescue) earlier this year, reverting to just 'Medic 1' or 'Rescue 2' for the fleet of ambulances and rescue trucks. The District Chiefs still go by 502 and 503 (sometimes 504 if a 3rd chief is working), the Chief is 'Official 5' the Deputy Chief is Unit 50, the Assistant Chief is Unit 51, Rescue Division Chief is Unit 500, Special Events Division Chief is Unit 501. River Rescue, a joint EMS and Police unit, still use the 4 digit identifiers of 5221 & 5222 for the primary response rescue craft.

The training personnel retain the 4 digit identifier using 530x, with 1-3 for the full time assigned personnel, and up to 10 for adjunct instructors as needed. 5801 is the mail car, 5401 is the supply unit.
