Effective June 1, 2010 the Lima Fire Department's minimum manning was reduced to 14. Also effective on that date, all apparatus responds to first alarm structure fires. The safety officer position has been eliminated. On September 6, 2013, MedCorp closed down operations in Lima. On September 9, 2013, the Lima Fire Department increased manning to 16 and placed a second medic unit in service to cover the increased need for emergency medical transport vehicles. This now gives Lima four medic units (two from LFD, two from LACP) to provide transportation services in Lima.

During the M-F 0700-1530 times there are two fire inspectors (C-13 and C-14) who can also respond and perform support duties as needed by the IC. One of them is called in on third alarms, the other at fourth alarm.

The fire investigator (C-17) works M-F 0700-1530 and investigates fires at the request of the IC. He gets called in quite frequently after hours.

The fire chief (C-10) works M-F 0700-1530 and doesn't respond to fires until the third alarm.
