NEW Blue Ridge Parkway Repeaters

  • Repeaters seem to be mixed mode, each having a DPL tone & NAC. Each are used randomly from different rangers.

  • Some maintenance units are reported still using the old 167 repeater, especially during snow closings.
  • Some units ran CSQ on occasion, there didn't seem to be a pattern, so possibly operator error.

305 - 384 400 Units Pisgah District (North of BRP HQ)
384 - 469 500 Units Pisgah District (South of BRP HQ)
850 Units Radio Technicians / Mt. Mitchell State Park Rangers
  • Dispatch is refered to as "800".
  • Dispatching is done at BRP HQ at MP 384 in Asheville, NC during the day.
  • Dispatching is handed off to Buncombe EOC in Buncombe County, NC at night.
  • Units 01-20 are subdistrict 1 rangers.
  • Units 21-40 are subdistrict 2 rangers.
  • Units 41-60 are subdistrict 3 rangers.
  • Units 60+ are reported as park maintenance personnel.
