Boulder County Sheriff's Office and a few local agencies are transitioning to this system.  To facilitate the transition, most VHF channels used by law enforcement and several fire department VHF channels are patched directly into DTRS.  These VHF to DTRS patched channels share the same names between the system.  In certain circumstances, the DTRS patches can be used to hear the simplex tactical frequencies that would typically be out of range.

===Statewide DTRS===
+
Some of the county fire departments dispatched on County Fire have tactical talkgroups on the DTRS system. These departments include Allenspark (9542, 9543), Lafayette (64, 63), Coal Creek (1501), Rocky Mountain & Louisville (9111). Mountain View has talkgroups on {{DB|s|7768#tgCid-20518|FRCC}} and DTRS. See relevant database entries for more details.
The [http://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=329 State of Colorado Digital Trunked Radio System (DTRS)] is not widely utilized in by local agencies in Boulder County.  Its primary users within the County are state agencies such as Colorado State Patrol (CSP) and Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT). Longmont is the only city in Boulder County that uses DTRS for primary communications. Some other cities dispatched on Green and Red 1 are in the process of testing DTRS. For these users, Green is patched to TG 9100 and Red 1 is patched to TG 9104.

Please see the [http://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=329#tgCid-12329 Boulder County DTRS Database] for control channel frequencies and talk group IDs.
