District & Zone Boundaries

Unit Numbering

When a CPS member comes on shift they are are assigned to a section of their district, let's say District 3, Zone 2. They will go and get the keys for their unit, if they are in 3-2 then the unit will be 1 (Radio Car) 3 (District) 2 (Zone) 5 (Unit) for a call of 1325. The number they voice on the radio is the physical unit on the top and side of the cars for identification from other responding officers, and HAWC's overhead.

Any radio ID starting with 4xxxx is a Vehicle.
Any radio ID starting with 5xxxx is a Handheld

Radio Codes

Introduction

Calgary Police uses a 10 code system to dispatch units over the radio with the same information being sent to the CAD of the units who advise they are able to respond.

Priority 1 High (Subject Still On Site / Complainant In Danger)

Priority 2 Medium (Subject In Area / Complainant NOT In Danger)

Priority 3 Low (Subject NOT In Area / Complainant NOT In Danger)
