If the answer to any of the 3 other questions is yes, then it belongs in this category. This specifically excludes Radio IDs (RIDs) or Unit IDs (UIDs). The RID/UID Lists category is specifically reserved for that data.

Articles with list(s) of unidentified or unknown talkgroups should also be placed in that state's Unknown Talkgroups category. This makes finding talkgroups that need further investigation very easy to find. Just click on the state's Trunking Information category and you'll see it listed as an additional sub category (if available). When a talkgroup is positively identified, it should be submitted for inclusion in the database. One can then use the Wiki Extensions to bring the talkgroup section into the article if it's still needed. Note that news items should not be sent to the database.

Welcome to the Trunking Information category which is a sub-category of Trunked Radio Systems. This category should be assigned to articles containing information on new or unknown trunk systems, or research on trunked systems that is not yet ready to be posted to the database.

An easy way to determine if this category should be assigned to your article is to ask 3 simple questions;

  1. Is the information critical to someone being able to trunk track this system? -or-
  2. Is it news about a new system about to be constructed or put on the air?
  3. Does it explain some technical aspect of a current system, such as where the transmit sites are or what their geographic coverage is?

  • If the answer to the first question is yes, and it has to do with custom programming or tables (beyond those needed for Rebanding), then assign Category:Regional Programming to your article, instead of this category.

  • If the answer to any of the 2 other questions is yes, then the article should be assigned this category, with the following exceptions.

    • Articles containing Radio IDs (RIDs) or Unit IDs (UIDs) should be assigned their state's RID/UID Lists category.

    • Articles containing Unknown Talkgroups should be assigned their state's Unknown Talkgroups category.
      • This makes it very easy to find talkgroups that need further investigation. Just click on the state's Trunking Information category and you'll see it listed as an additional sub category (if available).

      • When a talkgroup is positively identified, it should be submitted for inclusion in the database. One can then use the Wiki Extensions to bring the talkgroup section into the article if it's still needed. Note that news items should not be sent to the database.
