Chatham Kent Police Service Districts/Platoons

  • District 1 - Wallaceburg Covering Dresden, Tupperville, Grande Point, Dover, Mitchell's Bay. District 1 has 5 marked patrol cars. Units 101 102 103 104 105 Dodge Chargers. Along with a Community Relations Dodge Journey. District 1 also houses a 1987 18 foot Starcraft Marine unit.
  • Zone 101 West half of Wallaceburg to the north half of the Sydenham River extending west to Walpole Island, North to Kent Lone and South to Baseline Rd
  • Zone 102 Eastern half of Wallaceburg from the North branch of the Sydenham, River easterly to Mandaumin Rd, North to Kent Lone and South to Baseline Rd and covering Tupperville
  • Zone 103 Rural areas East and South of Zone 101 and 103 including Dresden, Mitchell's Bay, Grande Pointe and Dover

Units 104 and 105 roam District 1

  • District 2 - Thamesville covering Thamesville, Ridgetown, Bothwell, Erieau, Kent-Bridge, Highgate, Morpeth, Clachlan, Blenheim, Rondeau and Shrewsbury. District 2 has 5 marked patrol cars. Units 201 202 203 204 205 are Dodge Chargers
  • Zone 201 Areas of Bothwell, Thamesville, Kent-Bridge, Clachlan and all rural lands in between.
  • Zone 202 Areas of Ridgetown, Highgate, Morpeth
  • Zone 202 Areas of Blenheim, Erieau, Rondeau and Shrewsbury

Units 204 205 roam District 2

  • District 3 Covers Tilbury, Merlin, North Buxton, South Buxton, Port Alma, Fletcher, and Wheatley. District 3 has 5 marked patrol cars. Units 301 302 303 304 305 are Dodge Chargers. There are 12 officers assigned to District 3
  • Zone 301 Covers the Central area of Tilbury to Goodreau Line East to Oak Rd and to the Thames River
  • Zone 302 Covers Oak Rd East to Four Rod Rd and from the Thames River to Middle Ln and from Merlin Ln South to Lake Erie. This zone includes Merlin, North and South Buxton, Port Alma and Fletcher
  • Zone 303 Covers Middle Ln South to Lake Erie and Wheatley Rd to Merlin Ln. This zone includes Wheatley

Units 304 and 305 roam District 3

  • District 4 Covers the city of Chatham and some surrounding farm communities. District 4 is the largest population based area in Chatham-Kent and is the location of Headquarters. District 4 is also the home of the Traffic Management Unit and all Marked and Unmarked Traffic vehicles are stored at their Traffic Office outside of the city along with the C.I.R.T Armored Truck. Auxillary Unit, Canine, Chaplains, Child Abuse, Court Services, C.I.D./Major Crime Unit, C.I.R.T. Domestic Violence Unit, Emergency Communications, Evidence/Property Management, Forensid ID/CSI, HELP team/Mobile Crisis Team, Honour Huard, Intelligence Section, Marine Unit, Records Management, Traffice Services, Training/Careers, Victim Services and Youth Officers all work out of HQ

District 4 also has a 1911 24 foot Limestone Marine unit

  • Zone 401 Covers North West end of the city
  • Zone 402 Covers the North East end of the city
  • Zone 403 Covers the South East end of the city
  • Zone 404 Covers the South West end of the city
  • Zone 405 Covers the North section of District 4 with includes Pain Court, Oungah and in between Highway 40
  • Zone 406 Covers the South section of District 4 from Northwood Ln to Highway 401

C.I.R.T Critical Incident Response Team

  • The C.I.R.T. consists of designated officers who are highly trained in tactical response and perimeter management. The CKPS is one of few agencies in the province for which a course training standard has been approved.
  • The team is comprised of 14 officers, including 2 supervisors who are responsible for admin training, budget, equipment and deployment requirements. There are 2 team leaders, 11 officers from the Community Patrol Branch, Community Priority Action Team and the Criminal Investigation Division.
  • C.I.R.T is activated whenever the possibliity of a armed resistence exist or where a significant level of violence might be expected. C.I.R.T responds ro scences where firearms have been observed and when there are otherwise armed or barricaded person.

C.I.R.T. mebers have been trained for'

  • High-risk arrest and search warrants
  • Ground search for missing and wanted persons
  • Special assignments VIP security, high-risk prisoner escorts, witness protection and strikes.
  • C.I.R.T. has 2 Ford Explorer SUV's 1 Ex Ford EMS Truck, and a Ex Brinks Armored Truck. Members also drive normal marked and unmarked cruisers.
