These are typically used nationwide across the United States.

All frequencies listed on this page require a FCC license when used in the United States, except the five MURS frequencies (151.82, 151.88, 151.94, 154.57, 154.6).

Color Dot/Star Itinerant and Low Power Frequencies

These are typically used by low power business radios. Users might include construction site operations, schools, events, fast food drive ins, and other miscellaneous business uses:

  • Other frequencies may also be licensed for mobile only, low power, or itinierant use.

  • The mode used varies depending on the bandwidth allowed on a particular frequency. Refer to the FCC rules linked at the bottom of this page. FM, FMN and various digital modes such as MOTOTRBO, NXDN, or P25 may be used.

Common UHF Frequencies used by BearCom Rentals and Others

These frequencies, used either in simplex or repeater mode, are commonly used by BearCom (one of the largest radio-rental companies in the United States) for special events.

Radio rental companies somtimes obtain STA (Special Temporary Authority) licenses for their customers' short term events. These can include simplex channels, temporary repaters or temporary trunked systems. Almost any Business/Industrial Pool frequency can be used, not just the ones listed above.
