Fire:

  • First two digits represent station. Volunteer stations who use four digits use numbers above xx20 represent officers in POV's and numbers below xx20 to represent apparatus. All other nomenclature is self explanatory when heard and can vary widely by department.

Ocean Rescue:

  • NH, KDH, and KH Ocean rescue supervisors - above xx50 (first two digits represent the town's fire station number designation)
  • Surf Rescue supervisors (Duck/SS) - lower 900's
  • Individual lifeguards are identified by the beach access they serve or by last name
  • lifeguards on beach ATV patrol are identified as "Bike xx"
