There are 6 INDOT districts in the state:

  • 6 Vincennes
  • X Indiana Government Center Units

The first number of an INDOT radio ID is the district.

Each district is divided into subdistricts. The second number of an INDOT radio ID is the subdistrict number within the district, etc.

Each subdistrict is divided into units. For example the Indianapolis subdistrict has five units. These are the various small properties located across town where the snowplows and salt domes are staged.
