District Maps

Statewide Simplex Talkaround Channels

There are at least four VHF high band simplex channels (151.025, 151.055, 151.085, 156.135) commonly used for short distance hand held and truck communications at construction areas, by flaggers directing traffic, snow removal and sanding, etc. Simplex talkaround on local TxDOT repeater outputs has also been noted in some areas.

These channels are licensed for use anywhere in the state. There may be other frequencies used in some areas (see license links at the bottom of this page). In the past these have been CSQ (no tone) but in recent years (since around 2010) PL tones, DPL codes and P25 digital mode have been observed in some areas.

The channels used in a particular area or district may vary because there may be TxDOT repeaters or other licensed users on these frequencies in various locations throughout the state.
