Dutchess County Fire and EMS Codes and Signals

Code 1 - Routine Response (No lights/sirens)
Code 3 - Emergency Response (Lights/Sirens)

10-35 - Callback of career personnel.
Commonly used in City of Beacon and Fairview. A number after the 10-35 indicates number of personnel required. Most other career departments use telephones for callback.

Signal 1 - Manpower shortage. Commonly used by Arlington FD during multiple calls when career personnel
are not available to take apparatus that they are normally assigned to.

EMS Priority Codes

Priority 1 - Life Threatening - FD response, BLS ambulance, ALS unit (all Code 3)
Priority 2 - Unstable Patient - BLS ambulance, ALS unit (all Code 3)
Priority 3 - Ambulance - BLS ambulance (code 3), ALS unit (code 1)
Priority 4 - Ambulance - BLS ambulance (code 1)

86 - Mobile Life Support Services EMS was assigned ID #86 but uses Orange County ID #'s like "Mobile Life 266"
Empire State Ambulance recently began operations in Putnam County and established a headquarters in Fishkill. They are not presently part of the 911 EMS system in Dutchess County but they will be shortly. Pager tones have been assigned and they are in the process of becoming part of the Mutual Aid Plan. ID #87 would be a logical choice.
