Hanover Fire/EMS

Hanover County's Fire and EMS department is part of a regional interoperability "agreement" with other agencies in the Richmond Capitol Region. Each agency in the region is assigned a number from 1 - 16. Hanover is assigned 4. This is why you hear dispatchers call for "Engine 401" instead of "Engine 1". The list of other agencies involved in this can be found below:

  • 1 Richmond
  • 2 Chesterfield
  • 3 Henrico
  • 4 Hanover
  • 5 New Kent
  • 6 Goochland
  • 7 Powhatan
  • 8 Petersburg

  • 12 Prince George
