Overview
This is a proprietary trunked radio system format developed and marketed by Motorola. iDEN is the technology used by Nextel cellular telephones. Aeronautical Radio Inc. (ARINC) is in the process of building an 800/900 MHz iDEN network covering major airports nationwide in the United States.
