* AmerenCIPS (Central Illinois Public Service Company) was founded in 1902 as an electric streetcar holding company. In 1997 it merged with the larger neighboring Union Electric Company of Missouri to form Ameren Corporation, based in St. Louis MO. Now a subsidiary, Ameren Illinois is headquartered in Springfield IL. Named AmerenCIPS until merger in 2010 with Illinois Power and and AmerenCILCO [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Central_Illinois_Public_Service_Company Wikipedia Info]

* Ameren Corporation was created by the December 1997 merger of CIPSCO Incorporated (parent company of Central Illinois Public Service) and Union Electric Company. In 2003, Ameren grew with the acquisition of CILCORP, Inc., parent of Central Illinois Light Company, and operated as AmerenCILCO, and in 2004, Ameren acquired Illinois Power Company - and operated as AmerenIP - from Dynegy Inc.

* Ameren Illinois was formed October 1, 2010 consolidating AmerenCIPS, AmerenCILCO and AmerenIP.
 +
* Ameren Missouri was formed in 2010, from AmerenUE, the former Union Electric [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Union_Electric_Company Wikipedia] The former AmerenUE also served adjoining parts of Illinois; that portion would be transferred to Ameren Illinois in 2010.

 +

 +
Countrymark operates and maintains a low band VHF 2-way radio system,
 +
including 12 base stations, over 90 mobile units and 10 walkie-talkies. Mobile
 +
radios are installed in maintenance backhoes and in all “on road” maintenance,
 +
operation and supervision vehicles. The base stations are located at offices and
 +
terminals with standard telephone service. This provides indirect notification and
 +
direct response communications.
 +
Countrymark also equips supervisors and pipeline locators with cellular
 +
telephones which are carried in their vehicle or on their person at all times.
 +
These 25 units can be recharged in the vehicles without limiting use. They
 +
provide direct notification and direct response communications.
 +
Countrymark would establish communications with OSRO’s and responding
 +
Agencies through their cellular phones if available. OSRO’s or responding
 +
agencies without cellular phones will be supplied a Countrymark walkie-talkie or
 +
Countrymark employee with mobile radio as liaison. The Public Information
 +
Officer will provide communications liaison with all parties at the command post.

AmerenIllinois

Ameren Territory Map

AmerenIP former Illinois Power Company

  • AmerenCIPS (Central Illinois Public Service Company) was founded in 1902 as an electric streetcar holding company. In 1997 it merged with the larger neighboring Union Electric Company of Missouri to form Ameren Corporation, based in St. Louis MO. Now a subsidiary, Ameren Illinois is headquartered in Springfield IL. Named AmerenCIPS until merger in 2010 with Illinois Power and and AmerenCILCO Wikipedia Info
  • AmerenCILCO was founded in 1913 and in 2010 provided electricity and natural gas to more than 210,000 customers.
  • AmerenIP was founded in 1923 and in 2010 provided electric service to about 626,000 electric and 421,000 natural-gas customers.
  • Ameren Corporation was created by the December 1997 merger of CIPSCO Incorporated (parent company of Central Illinois Public Service) and Union Electric Company. In 2003, Ameren grew with the acquisition of CILCORP, Inc., parent of Central Illinois Light Company, and operated as AmerenCILCO, and in 2004, Ameren acquired Illinois Power Company - and operated as AmerenIP - from Dynegy Inc.
  • Ameren Illinois was formed October 1, 2010 consolidating AmerenCIPS, AmerenCILCO and AmerenIP.
  • Ameren Missouri was formed in 2010, from AmerenUE, the former Union Electric Wikipedia The former AmerenUE also served adjoining parts of Illinois; that portion would be transferred to Ameren Illinois in 2010.

CountryMark Pipeline

Countrymark operates and maintains a low band VHF 2-way radio system, including 12 base stations, over 90 mobile units and 10 walkie-talkies. Mobile radios are installed in maintenance backhoes and in all “on road” maintenance, operation and supervision vehicles. The base stations are located at offices and terminals with standard telephone service. This provides indirect notification and direct response communications. Countrymark also equips supervisors and pipeline locators with cellular telephones which are carried in their vehicle or on their person at all times. These 25 units can be recharged in the vehicles without limiting use. They provide direct notification and direct response communications. Countrymark would establish communications with OSRO’s and responding Agencies through their cellular phones if available. OSRO’s or responding agencies without cellular phones will be supplied a Countrymark walkie-talkie or Countrymark employee with mobile radio as liaison. The Public Information Officer will provide communications liaison with all parties at the command post.
