Shively Fire Department

The City of Shively Fire Department is dispatched by the Louisville Division of Fire and their Radio IDs follow in-line with LFD's Radio IDs. SFD's Fire Chief ("Chief 55") has a Radio ID of 100550 (mobile) and 100551 (handheld). Shively has two front-line fire apparatus, Quint 25 and Engine 25, follow suit with LFD's Truck and Engine numbering, respectively. (101251 for Quint 25-W, 102250 for Engine 25 mobile, etc.). Shively also maintains two auxiliary apparatus, Auxiliary Truck 125 (103250) and Auxiliary Engine 125 (104250).

Jefferson County Suburban Fire

All Jefferson County Suburban Fire Districts utilize a four-digit radio number system. All of the six-digit Radio IDs follow with the four-digit radio number, with the first and sixth digits following the same pattern as LFD's (described above).

Example: Engine 1232's In-Car Radio: 112320. Car 1602's Handheld Radio: 116021.

Louisville Metro Police Department

All LMPD Radio IDs begin with the number 2, followed by the officer's unique four-digit code number. Some of the radios are then followed by the number 1, others are not.

Example: Officer with the code number 1234 would have the Radio ID: 21234.

Note that there are not any LMPD vehicles with in-car radios.

Jefferson County Suburban Fire Service

While the City of Louisville and the City of Shively have maintained their own municipal fire departments, the remainder of Jefferson County is protected by 17 independent fire protection districts. Some of these districts are fully paid, while others are combination career & volunteer. Each of them are administered independently, but they all operate jointly with automatic mutual aid agreements county-wide. There is also a Hazardous Materials Response Team and a Special Operations Response Team (for water rescue, trench rescue, high/low-angle rescue, structural collapse, etc.) that are comprised of members from various agencies. The County owns some pieces of equipment that are operated at various fire stations throughout the county.
