Public safety communications within Jefferson County are served primarily by the [http://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=658 Jefferson County Public Safety TRS] and are dispatched by Jefferson County 911.  All public safety agencies within the county have a presence on the 911 System TRS.  This Motorola Type II 800 Mhz trunked system is currently supporting only analog voice.  For those of you who are curious, MDT data is transmitted on conventional 800 mhz frequencies and not over the trunked system - and it cannot be decoded with any programs you may find on the Internet, so don't bother.

General

Jefferson County is a county in eastern Ohio. Surrounding counties are Columbiana to the north, Belmont to the south, Carroll and Harrison to the west, and Hancock, Brooke, and Ohio in West Virginia.

Divisions

From a public safety standpoint, Jefferson County is divided into Divisions 1, 2 and 3. These divisions roughly divide the northern, central and southern thirds of the county.


Station Numbers

In the county, all Police, Fire and EMS agencies have station numbers assigned to them. The station numbers appear to range from 0 to 99 with some of them not yet documented or not yet used.
