Charlotte/Mecklenburg Police Unit IDs and Patrol Districts

CMPD Patrol districts have been renamed. They have gone to a 6 digit ID number for each officer. The first 2 digits represent the district they are assigned to. The 2nd 2 numbers are the area within that district, and the final set of 2 are the officers number. For instance, instead of an officer being Baker 311, the would now be 163111. The new patrol districts are(Old Name = New Name):

  • Adam 1 = Steele Creek
  • Adam 2 = Westover
  • Adam 3 = Freedom
  • Baker 1 = Provedence
  • Baker 2 = South
  • Baker 3 = Independence
  • Charlie 1 = North
  • Charlie 2 = Eastway
  • Charlie 3 = Hickory Grove
  • David 1 = Central
  • David 2 = Metro
  • CHARLOTTE-MECKLENBURG POLICE SUPERVISORS: Division number-10-11 is the division captain Division number-10-x>11 are the division sergeants Examples 06-10-11 is the Eastway Division captain 17-10-14 is an Independence Division sergeant 40-10-xx are majors. It's not known if the Chief and Deputy Chiefs are a 40-10-xx or some other sequence. 501 Duty Captain (City-wide shift commander)
  • CHARLOTTE-MECKLENBURG POLICE HELICOPTER: Unit 455. It will switch to whichever talkgroup it is needed on, but stays on Adam-5 when not involved in an incident.
  • CHARLOTTE AREA LAKE PATROLS: 11-16-xx CMPD marine units on Lake Norman/Mountain Island Lake 21-15-xx CMPD marine units on Lake Wylie These units are dispatched by the regular Division 11 and Division 21 dispatchers, just like patrol cars. For additional information on monitoring the lakes, see the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission.
