Montérégie is actually an administrative region of the Province of Québec. Within Montérégie, there are three subregions each consisting of Regional County Municipalities (municipalité régionale de comté - "MRC") or equivalents:
- Longueuil, an urban agglomeration equivalent to an RCM
- Montérégie-Est
