A note on riot operations: a set of special units called "groupe d'intervention" (GI) is often deployed during demonstrations or riot situations. They are under the supervision of the "intervention" unit (often 72-85) or the local field commander (for example 21-99). but may be adressed with letters instead of numbers of their station name.
