The Letter designations (A, B, C, etc) is OK, unless you want to put down that A, B, C, D, E, F, G & K are Troops (REMOVE "G" as "State Government agencies" in the Special Units section - G is a Troop). NYSP units ID as a number-letter-number callsign, unless they are from the Troop Headquarters, then they identify with just the letter-number callsign. The first number designates what the unit is: 1,2,3,4 are zone patrols 5 are BCI investigators 6 are portables 7 other police agencies on NYSP radio system 8 are special units 9 are NYSP dispatchers The letter then designates the troop or special unit designator The second set of numbers is the unit numbers in succession. This means 3D15 is a Zone 3-Troop D-patrol car, 5D15 would be a BCI Investigator in Troop D, 9B201 is an NYSP Dispatcher in Troop B Zone 2, etc. What is listed in the section for NYSP units is specific for Troop L - you can remove all that, just keep the "Special Unit Designators" (except the letter G). NYSP used to break up their unit numbers into: "1L1 - Lieutenant, 1L10-1L49 - Marked Cars, 1L50-1L79 - Unmarked Cars, etc" -- they no longer do this as the NYSP no longer has unmarked patrol units and recently renumbered their units. Zone cars will now be 1 is the Zone Captain(ie 3D1, or 2E1, etc), 5 is the Zone Lieutenant (ie 3D5, or 2E5, etc), 10 through 90 are marked patrol units.
