The Letter designations (A, B, C, etc) is OK, unless you want to put down that A, B, C, D, E, F, G & K are Troops (REMOVE "G" as "State Government agencies" in the Special Units section - G is a Troop). NYSP units ID as a number-letter-number callsign, unless they are from the Troop Headquarters, then they identify with just the letter-number callsign. The first number designates what the unit is: 1,2,3,4 are zone patrols 5 are BCI investigators 6 are portables 7 other police agencies on NYSP radio system 8 are special units 9 are NYSP dispatchers The letter then designates the troop or special unit designator The second set of numbers is the unit numbers in succession. This means 3D15 is a Zone 3-Troop D-patrol car, 5D15 would be a BCI Investigator in Troop D, 9B201 is an NYSP Dispatcher in Troop B Zone 2, etc. What is listed in the section for NYSP units is specific for Troop L - you can remove all that, just keep the "Special Unit Designators" (except the letter G). NYSP used to break up their unit numbers into: "1L1 - Lieutenant, 1L10-1L49 - Marked Cars, 1L50-1L79 - Unmarked Cars, etc" -- they no longer do this as the NYSP no longer has unmarked patrol units and recently renumbered their units. Zone cars will now be 1 is the Zone Captain(ie 3D1, or 2E1, etc), 5 is the Zone Lieutenant (ie 3D5, or 2E5, etc), 10 through 90 are marked patrol units.

Typically includes Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, Bomb Disposal Units, traffic enforcement units, and sometimes patrol units.
The latter 80 call signs have been typically been reserved for traffic enforcement since the 1980s. Chevrolet Camaros were always numbered as were usually numbered #X87 and #X88, and while the Camaros are gone, many troops still reserve the range for traffic enforcement. If it is not a traffic enforcement unit, the range is usually out of service. None of this applies to Troop T, which use the range for special units, such as canine units.
Includes patrol units, supervisors, and some special units. See dedicated wiki page.
Not the same thing as Park Rangers. These are Park Forest Rangers that seem to be primarily responsible for firefighting. Not sure what relationship, if any, there is to ENCON Forest Rangers.
Some troops give dispatchers five digit call signs in the 9X#00-9X#99 range. The "#" designates the dispatcher's zone, if the number is "0," it designates a troop headquarters dispatcher). There may be some exceptions to the 9X1-9X99 format, but this remains unclear.
May identify as MRT1 through MRT6. This remains unclear.
Designates area of the state, not NYSP troop. Non-NYSP units marked with an "X" use the same designator as the local NYSP troop.
