Due to increased in severity of DTV interference on the current 500 MHz trunked system the total cost was approved by the county freeholders on September 17 with a contract awarded to Motorola Solutions for 700 MHz Overlay.
 
 
Funding for each phase of the project is being provided from the county budget each year:
 
 
 
*2014 - Design, Permitting and Construction of five Remote Towers, Phase 2
 
*2015 - Purchase/Installation Microwave Equipment for four Remote Towers, Phase 3
 
*2016 - Purchase higher and lower tier mobile/portable subscriber units, Phase 4
 
*2017 - 700mhz Overlay P25 TDMA Infrastructure at eleven Remote Tower sites, Phase 5

System Information

Once the new countywide P25 trunked radio system is completed it will be a simulcast system from 12 different sites which are located throughout Ocean County. The current locations are the following:
