Please note that while stations 501, 509, 521, 531, 532, and 533 are listed and do use PWC radio frequencies they are not part of the county.

  • 501 (both VFC and VRS), 521 are in the City of Manassas
  • 509 is in the City of Manassas Park
  • 531, 532, 533 are on Quantico MCB. They have and use their own radio frequencies for any on base emergencies.

Prince William County Fire Department Unit Designation

Prince William County uses the Metro Washington Council of Governments (MWCOG or COG) unit numbering system. Units are designated by unit type followed by COG number then station number, ex: E-508 would be E=Engine 5=PWC COG number and 08=Staition number. If a station has multiple units of the same type you will see an additional letter at the end, ex: E-518A and E-518B would be Engine 518-Alpha and Engine 518 Bravo. In some cases the the unit type can be 2 letters, ex: FE-501 or TW-525 would be Foam Engine 501 and Tower 525.

The COG jurisdiction numbers are as follows:

  • 0 - Washington, DC
  • 1 - Arlington, VA
  • 2 - Alexandria, VA
  • 3 - MWAA (Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Fire Department)
  • 4 - Fairfax County, VA (Including the City of Fairfax and Fort Belvoir AB)
  • 5 - Prince William County, VA (including the Cities of Manassas and Manassas Park and Quantico MCB)
  • 6 - Loudoun County, VA
  • 7 - Montgomery County, MD
  • 8 - Prince George's County, MD
  • 9 - Frederick County, MD
  • 10 - Currently Unassigned
  • 11 - Fauquier County, VA
  • 12 - Culpeper County, VA
