Pro-97 Display Scanning

Pro-97 Display Hold

High-performance, extended-coverage scanner has the ability to scan both trunked and conventional channels at the same time. Program up to 1,000 frequencies in 10 banks of 10. This allows you to organize frequencies for easier access. For example, race frequencies in Bank 1, police/fire/emergency in Bank 2, etc. Triple-trunking lets you follow a signal in virtually any market that uses an analog trunking system. Most major metropolitan areas utilize trunked systems. Signal Stalker II searches for nearby frequency transmissions and lets you hear a nearby radio without knowing its frequency. Skywarn lets you hear local trained severe weather observers calling in their reports. Hear severe weather 3-4 minutes before it is rebroadcast on NOAA weather radio frequencies and 4-10 minutes before you'd get the same warning on local radio or TV. Built-in search for Police/Fire, Air, CB, Ham Radio, FRS, GMRS and more.

GRE manufactured for Radio Shack HH multi system trunker. DOES require proper programming of LCN's on LTR systems. Uses Win97 to program. Due to firmware limitations, computer control of this radio is not possible.

Finding LTR LCN order

  • The PRO-97 has a feature that will tell you what the proper channel number for an LTR system is. Program a frequency from the system in the first channel (steps 1-6), set the mode for LTR (step 7), put the scanner in manual, and when you hear a transmission, there will be a number in the lower right corner of the display like "R03" or whatever. This is the LCN (Logical Channel Number) of that frequency. If it is "R03", you would re-program that frequency into channel number x03 of whatever bank you are going to use. Continue the above procedure until you have all the numbers for all the frequencies in the system, keeping in mind that some numbers might be skipped over, example, there may be no channel R02 in your particular system.
  • Note - The LTR repeater number identifer does not work when the repeater ID burst is turned off by the system administrator.

Restoring The 155 Preset Frequencies

  • 1. Turn the scanner OFF and then turn ON again.
  • 2. When the Multi-system Trunking Scanner appears, press PGM.
  • 3. Press 1
