Note: If the system is Mot I or IIi, set the Fleetmap in the last section prior to 
other programming.

Programming
Storing known non trunked frequencies
1. Press MANUAL, Press three digits to get the bank and channel number desired then 
   Press MANUAL again.  (upper left should read Mxxx for your bank and channel number)
2. Press PGM, (upper left should change from M to P) 
3. Enter the frequency using the numbered keys in the format xx.xxxxx, xxx.xxxxx or 
   xxxx.xxxxx.  
4. If needed, Press MODE to change the receiver mode.
5. Press ENTER.
6. Press TEXT to Alpha Tag a freq
7. Using the letters above the numbered keys as guide, text in the freq name
8. Press ENTER
9. Press PGM and repeat steps 3 through 8 again until all desired frequencies are 
   entered in selected bank.

Storing known trunked frequencies
        Note:  	1. EDACS must start in channel 01 of bank not channel 00, and must 
       	           follow a listed order called LCN.
                2. Motorola systems require only control channels to be entered.
                3. More than one trunk system may be stored in a bank, provided it is seperated by a 
                   conventional channel.

2. Press PGM
3. Press TRUNK
4. Press MODE for MO (Motorola) or ED (EDACS).
5. Press PGM
6. Enter the frequency
7. Press ENTER
8. Press TEXT to Alpha Tag a freq
9. Using the letters above the numbered keys as guide, text in the freq name.
10. Press ENTER  
11. Repeat steps 5 through 10 until all frequencies/w/text are entered in selected bank.

Storing Text Tags if not previously stored
1. Press MANUAL, Press three digits to get the bank and channel number desired then 
   Press MANUAL again.  (upper left should read Mxxx for your bank and channel number)
2. Press PGM, (upper left should change from M to P)
3. Press Text, the cursor appears on line 3.
4. Using the numbered keys text in the line up to 12 characters.  The letters above 
   each number will help in the selection.  Example, POLICE DISP (11 characters counting 
   the space) The first letter is P, Press the number 7 then the number 1 for P. 
   (7 will open the four numbers PQRS and by selecting 1 is for the first of these four.  
   A 7 then 2 would get the letter Q.  Press up of down to move the courser back an 
   fourth or to correct a mistake.
5. Press ENTER
	Note: Chart on page 31 for other text options.

Talk Group ID’s
These are Identification assigned by the manager of the system you desire to scan.

Storing unknown trunked ID’s
1. When the scanner stops on a conversion, Press TRUNK, the bottom line will indicate 
   where the ID is saved as x-xx, where the first x is the sub-bank number in the bank 
   and the xx is the the number of ID’s 00 to 19 in the sub-bank.  
        Note: 
            1. Each bank has five 20 ID positions for a total of 100 per bank.  
            2. If an ID was already stored, the bottom line will display ID was saved.
Storing Known trunked ID’s
1. Select out all banks except desired bank ie. While scanning press each numbered 
   bank to  deselect it except your desired bank.
2. Press PGM.
3. Press TRUNK.
4. Press down until bank 0-0  on appears at the top with Id no. 00 on the second line.
5. Press MODE, if needed for MOT or ED.
6. Enter the ID number, if necessary use the period for a hyphen.
7. Press ENTER.
8. Press up and repeat 6, 7 and 8 until all are entered.

Scanning Banks 

Turn Radio on, the last bank(s) selected will start scanning.  
Note: If the radio was in search mode when turned off, the radio will continue that 
search pattern when turned on until Scan or manual is pressed.

To change scanning banks. 
1. Press the number associated with desired bank.  The number on top line of display 
will either be on or off accordingly. 

To change from Open Mode to Closed Mode (or the reverse).
1. Press MANUAL then the bank and number you want to change.
2. Press FUNC then 5 (Bank Open of Bank Closed will display).
3. Alternately, while scanning in a bank, when the radio stops on a call, Press FUNC 
   then 5 (Bank Open or Bank Closed will display). 
        Note: In the Open Mode the scanner will stop on any transmission of all talk 
              groups in a system.  In the Closed Mode the scanner will stop on only 
              unlocked stored ID’s.

Setting Fleetmaps for Type I and IIi hybrid systems 
1. While in your bank, Press PGM
2. Press TRUNK
3. Press FUNC then 8  
4. Your screen should read as follows:
                                            Block 0 size
                                            Code.  Use 15
                                            for type II.
                                            S-00
5. Using the numbered keys, enter the two-digit code for Block O, ie S-3 would be 03 
   for entry.  
6. Press ENTER. The top line will change to the next block waiting for new entry on 
   line 4.
7. Repeat  step 5 and 6 until all codes are entered. 
        Note, S-12 will use two blocks, S-13 will use 4 blocks and S-14 will use all blocks.
8. Press SCAN
