Used by County departments as well as non-county public providers. Some talkgroups are "patched" to other systems via the consoles in dispatchThis leads to some duplication among the various systemsFor example, Fire dispatch patches 1-Fire-1, 2-Fire-1, 3-Fire-1, 6-FGND-7 together on a normal basis to create a larger "North Desert Dispatch" systemFGND (fireground) channels are not normally patched and are stand-alone with only a couple exceptions (1-FGND-2 and 6-FGND-7).  Some SB County VHF channels might be patched in on a temporary basis to allow non 800mhz agencies to operate jointly without borrowing radios.

Flash II Hill, North of Barstow, CA

Description

This is an orphan system still in service in San Bernardino County. After simulcasting of system 1 was put into effect at the same location, this system became redundant. 2-Fire-1 used to be the primary fire dispatch channel but is now silent. Occasionally, units can be heard using 2-FGND-1 amongst themselves but Fire Dispatch no longer has access to this TRS. Barstow Marine Base FD still uses it since they have no need for coverage beyond this stand-alone system.
