Description

Used by County departments as well as non-county public providers. Some talkgroups are "patched" to other systems via the consoles in dispatch. This leads to some duplication among the various systems. For example, Fire dispatch patches 1-Fire-1, 2-Fire-1, 3-Fire-1, 6-FGND-7 together on a normal basis to create a larger "North Desert Dispatch" system. FGND (fireground) channels are not normally patched and are stand-alone with only a couple exceptions (1-FGND-2 and 6-FGND-7). Some SB County VHF channels might be patched in on a temporary basis to allow non 800mhz agencies to operate jointly without borrowing radios.
